FAQ

What is the difference between the Unity Asset version and the Standalone version?

See Unity Asset vs Standalone for a full comparison.

Can I use Wiener on multiple titles?

The Standalone version is 1 license per title, with no limit on the number of users. Multiple titles require separate licenses per title.

What counts as "1 title"?

DLC, additional content, and platform ports are considered the same title. Sequels and spin-offs require a separate title.

What about updates after purchase?

Version updates after purchase are provided free of charge. Support plan subscribers receive priority delivery of security updates.

Can I use Wiener without a support plan?

Yes. The Standalone version can be used without a support contract. Bugs can be reported via the community, but priority response is available to support subscribers only.

Can generated C# / C++ code be bundled with a commercial game?

Yes. Bundle it with your game. C# / C++ code and data files generated by Wiener can be included in commercial games.

Can I receive bug fixes without a support contract?

Bug reports are accepted by email. However, paid support subscribers receive priority response.

Can Wiener be introduced into an existing project?

Yes. If your project already uses Excel or Google Sheets, Wiener can usually be introduced with small adjustments.

Which Excel file formats are supported? xlsx only?

.xlsx and .xlsm are supported. You can use Excel formulas and macros.

What permissions are required for Google Sheets integration?

You need a Google service account credential JSON file and read/write permission for the target spreadsheets. See Google Sheets Input for setup steps.

Which Unity versions are supported?

Unity 2021.3 LTS or later is supported.

Which UE5 versions are supported?

Unreal Engine 5.0 or later is supported.

Can I keep using the same settings files when moving from the free trial to a paid version?

What about educational or learning use?

The free trial (100k cell limit, coming soon) will cover educational and learning purposes.
